Defence Families
Being a part of a Defence family often comes with unique challenges - frequent relocations, family separations, long deployments, and the stress of adapting to new environments. Victory is committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where your children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
We recognise the resilience and strength that Defence families bring to our community, and we are dedicated to ensuring that your transition to our community is as smooth and positive as possible.
Whether you are new to the area or have been part of the Defence community for years, our Defence School Mentor is here to provide guidance, resources, and a listening ear. From helping your children settle into their new classrooms to connecting you with other Defence families, our goal is to make you feel at home.
Together, we can create a supportive and enriching experience for your family.
Defence School Mentor Program at Victory
The Defence School Mentor Program (DSMP) is delivered in partnership with schools across Australia to support the wellbeing of children of ADF members. The program connects children with their school community and enhances the school's ability to address the impacts of the military lifestyle.
The Defence School Mentor (DSM) plays a vital role in providing stability, guidance, and support to both students and their families in the following ways:
- Emotional and Social Support
- Education Assistance
- Connection to resources
- Building community
- Strengthening family wellbeing
- Posting In and Out: Connecting with communities before you arrive.
Our Defence School Mentor is here, along with all staff at Victory, to help smooth the transition for children and families, fostering a welcome and supportive environment where Defence children can grow, adapt, and succeed.
