The Victory difference is our caring culture. It's visible in the classroom, playground, Caregroups and on the sporting fields. Each staff member makes a special effort to know and care for the students in their charge. Staff do not follow a ‘one size fits all’ approach but strive to develop individual pathways for students according to their particular interests and talents. Our aim is to inspire, motivate and empower students towards reaching their true potential, achieving their own goals and individual personal bests.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Our academic programs develop confident, literate and numerate problem solvers who have the skills and knowledge to strive for their personal best.

A recent report of Victoria’s Top performing NAPLAN Schools published in the Herald Sun on Tuesday, 29^th November 2022 highlighted Victory Lutheran College as the leading school in Wodonga and surrounds. Over the past five years, our Primary NAPLAN results ranked Victory 38th in Regional Victoria and 386th in the State. Similarly, Secondary results ranked Victory 11th in Regional Victoria and 102nd in the State.

Whilst this five year NAPLAN trend is a positive affirmation of the amazing efforts of our students and staff over the past five years during some challenging times, we are just as excited to watch our current Year 12 graduates receive their results and explore their pathway options. For some, the chance to try new things, new lines of work, travel or a gap year. For others, they will hit the ground running almost immediately as they have gained full-time work, apprenticeships and traineeships. Whilst for others, education will continue as they enter a tertiary degree of their choice.

Our impressive VCE results continue to reflect the shared partnership between students and teachers and we congratulate the Class of 2022 on their amazing results, which, for the second year in a row, had 20.6% of Year 12 achieving an ATAR over 90.

COLLEGE DUX

Victory congratulates our College Dux, Aleisha Coyle on her outstanding ATAR of 99.35. Aleisha scored a 50 in Physical Education, 48 in Health & Human Development, 48 in Psychology (2020), 45 in Biology and 43 in English, placing her inside the top 4% of all students in the state for these subjects.

ATAR RESULTS - 2022

Victory continues to be the leading school in the North-East region with a proven ability to support our senior students in achieving their personal best and connection into their chosen career pathway.

The collective results of the Class of 2022 were impressive yet again. Each of them has endured challenges over the past few years and we are extremely proud of all our student’s achievements and the amazing young adults they have become.

We congratulate our College Dux, Isobel Whitehead on her outstanding ATAR of 96.9. Isobel scored a 45 in English and 42 in Drama in 2022 as well as 45 in History: Revolutions and 40 in Psychology in 2021. Isobel was closely followed by Peter Vogelsang who achieved an ATAR of 94.1 with scores of 40 in both Mathematical Methods and Physics.

Amazingly, 20.6% of our Year 12s achieved an ATAR above 90 this year which is the second year in a row that over 20% of a graduating cohort has achieved this standard.

Other significant successes include:

32.4% achieved 80+
38.2% were above 70
73.5% scored above 60.
5.9% of all study scores were above 40% (top 9% of state) and
20.8% of study scores were above 35.

Whilst we celebrate the entire Class of 2022 for their collective achievements, we also acknowledge the following (note: not all individual results can be shared due to privacy):

Charlotte Smith – 92.05 with a 43 in Physical Education (2021)
Gabriella Kamber – 91.85 with a 40 in both Drama and Food Studies as well as 42 in both Psychology and VET Hospitality - Kitchen Operations in 2021
Rajveersinh Mahida – 91.4
Hayman McCabe – 90.8 with a 42 in Geography
Matilda Robb – 90.3 with a 43 in Business Management and 41 in VET Sport & Recreation (2021)

As well as these, a number of other students in our Year 12 Classes of 2022 & 2023 achieved scores over 40 which places them in the top 9% for the state:

Allira-Jayne Moss – VET Sport & Recreation 40
Grace Zweck – Business Management 40

We are excited to watch the next part of the Year 12 Class of 2022’s journey. Over the next few months, university placements will be offered and we also take this time to acknowledge and celebrate students who have successfully obtained full-time employment and apprenticeships in their preferred career.

We wish our old scholars all the best and remind them that they are always welcome back to our Victory Lutheran College community.

OUTSTANDING FACILITIES

Victory boasts first class, award-winning facilities and specialised dedicated Science, Music, Art and Technical Trade Centres. The continuing growth of the College has seen our facilities significantly bolstered over the last few years with a modern tertiary learning environment provided for senior students and a dedicated learning hub opened for Years 5 and 6. These modern facilities enrich each student’s learning journey.
