Celebrating Who We Are
Principal's MessageAs I look back on my first year as Principal, I can honestly say it has been an extremely fun year and I am so grateful to be part of this community. What made 2025 memorable isn’t simply the activities, it’s the people, the conversations and the relationships that sit at the heart of our College.
Across the year, there were so many moments that stood out, but here are just a few:
Primary highlights:
- the excitement of the Foundation Zoo visit and the creative energy our youngest learners brought back to their classrooms.
- a bundle of persuasive letters from Year 3 advocating for a therapy dog, which were thoughtful, well reasoned and full of care.
- the Year 5 camp at Sovereign Hill, where shared experiences turned into deeper connections.
- spontaneous downball games in front of the canteen that drew students and staff together.
- and the Year 6 band, “I Don’t Know”, lighting up their graduation service.
Secondary highlights:
- the Year 9 kayaking adventure on the Weir, a day packed with challenge and laughter.
- the Ice Cold Challenge for Cancer.
- the SOAR Art Showcase in our refurbished Eagle Art Centre, celebrating VCE and emerging artists.
- the snow trip, surely among the year’s standout experiences.
- Friday oval duty, kicking a footy and sharing relaxed conversations with students.
- and the informal chats on crossing duty that remind us how small interactions build a strong community.
Each of these moments point to the same truth: who we are and that how we connect matters.
At Victory, our strength is our relationships, how we show up for each other, listen and encourage. This is The Victory Way lived every day. Our value of Compassion, how we treat each other, isn’t a slogan; it’s a practice. You can see it when a student offers a kind word, a class welcomes a new peer, a teacher stays back to help, a family volunteers their time or a colleague checks in on another. When we invest in these relationships, we build a College where everyone feels safe, welcomed and part of the team.
To our students:
As you reflect on your year, celebrate your growth, your courage to try, your resilience to keep going, your empathy to notice others and the teamwork that turned small wins into shared success. You have helped shape a positive College culture and I am proud of the way you supported one another.
To our families:
Thank you for your partnership, trust and the countless ways you contribute to community life. Your involvement, on the sidelines, in the audience, at morning drop off and in the everyday, makes a real difference.
To our staff:
Thank you for the professionalism and heart you bring to your work. You create spaces where students feel known and challenged and you model what compassion looks like in action.
As we wrap up 2025, I am excited and confident about a positive year of growth in 2026. We will keep sharpening our purpose and keep relationships at the centre, because when we care about how we treat each other, learning deepens, wellbeing strengthens and we grow in purpose.
Thank you for an outstanding 2025 and for embodying The Victory Way. May your holidays be restful and joyful and may the relationships that define our College continue to grow in the year ahead.
