Year 7 Camp 2026

At its heart, Year 7 is about relationships

Year 7 Camp is always a significant milestone, and in 2026 it again delivered an unforgettable start to Secondary school. The camp provided rich opportunities for students to grow in character, confidence and connection.

Across the week, students built meaningful connections with peers, teachers and our outstanding VET Sport and Recreation leaders, who modelled leadership, encouragement and positivity throughout every activity.

Students embraced a range of adventure challenges including kayaking, mountain biking, archery, low ropes, orienteering and the Giant Swing. While each activity carried a strong educational focus on teamwork, problem‑solving and resilience, the emphasis was always on fun and belonging. Through healthy risk‑taking in a safe, well‑supported environment, students were encouraged to step just beyond their comfort zones and in doing so, discovered they could do hard things.

Camp also played a vital role in developing pro‑social skills. Students encouraged one another, managed nerves, listened actively and most importantly, included others, even when tired or stretched. These real‑life experiences provided a powerful foundation that we will now continue to build on through the Grow Yourself SEL unit in Connect this term.

Camp was also a living expression of the Victory Way. Students were inspired to try new things, challenged to push themselves, and encouraged to show compassion by supporting and including others. Our dedicated Year 7 staff team and VET Sport & Recreation leaders went above and beyond, investing time, care and energy to ensure every student experienced a safe, memorable and meaningful week.

We are incredibly proud of this Year 7 cohort. They showed courage, kindness, humour and resilience — and truly did us proud.
