Meet our Principal

We strive to inspire and empower our students to achieve their personal best by recognising them as individuals with their own dreams, beliefs and abilities.

Mr John Thompson commenced as Principal in June 2015 and continues to build on the foundation of the past three Principals. Under his leadership, Victory has continued to go from strength to strength with demand for enrolments increasing, further developing its reputation as one of the leading independent schools in North East Victoria and one of the fastest growing Foundation to Year 12 Colleges in the area.

As Principal, John is passionate about delivering Victory's 20 20 Strategic Master Plan to enrich, grow, champion, strengthen and empower our students and community to provide excellence in all. In 2017, the Argus Learning Centre was officially opened for senior students, the result of a significant building program to provide world-class learning facilities to cater for individual learning styles.

John is a current serving Member of AHISA (Association of Heads of Independent Schools Australia) and the AISSA Leadership Program in Adelaide and was chosen for Lutheran Education Australia’s Leadership Development Program. He also participated in EduTECH National Congress, Expo and Masterclass.

In his remaining private time, Mr Thompson enjoys playing golf, wine tasting, travelling and spending time with his family, and is a passionate AFL supporter. John is married to Laura and has two children Elijah and Maggie, a dog called Callaway and resides in East Albury, NSW.
