Primary Athletics Carnival

An amazing three days of Athletics for our Primary School! 06 Fri Primary Athletics Presentation Murray

We held our annual Primary Athletics Carnival over three days last week. Conditions were absolutely perfect as the competitors went through their paces.

The 800m event kicked off proceedings for Years 3-6 with many finding the two laps around Luther Oval a definite warm-up for the main events later in the week.

Then Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 students began the main event on Thursday, undertaking their field events. The students were beaming as our Secondary VET Sport and Recreation students guided them through their shotput, vortex, sling shot and long jump events.

Just when things looked like they could not get any better, Friday rolled around and Years 3-6 students got their chance to compete. These students competed in discus, shotput, foam javelin and long jump.

After lunch the Foundation - Year 2 students joined the rest of the Primary School for the running events. The cheering was loud and the atmosphere electric as the day wound up with the relays. At the conclusion of the Carnival it was Murray who came out on top with Mitta in second and Kiewa in third.

A big thanks must go to our VET Sport and Recreation students who ran the field events and our Grounds and Maintenance team for preparing the running tracks and field pits.

Well done to Murray!
