Primary Winter Sports Carnival

A chilly start but a warm finish to the annual Primary Winter Sports Carnival

Despite the fairly July winter morning, our Years 5 & 6 students brought energy to the Primary Winter Sports Carnival held across Wodonga on 25th July. As the sun emerged, so did their competitive spirit and teamwork turning a chilly day into a fun day of sport.

Students competed in AFL, Netball, Rugby Tag, Soccer and Volleyball. Across the games, they demonstrated their growing sporting skills as well as encouraging and celebrating each other’s efforts.

A special highlight of the day was the involvement of our Year 9 Outdoor Education students, who stepped into coaching roles for Netball and Soccer. Their guidance and positive encouragement added a valuable layer of support, helping our younger students feel confident and connected.

I also thank our VET Sport & Recreation students, who took on umpiring duties for Volleyball. They ensured games ran smoothly and their contribution was appreciated by staff and students alike.

The Primary Winter Sports Carnival was a celebration of community, leadership and the joy of being active together. We are proud of every student who participated and grateful to the staff and senior students who made the day so memorable.
