Book Week

There's no stopping Book Week!

We had a wonderful Book Week on 21st October with the highlight being the dress-up day for Primary students on Wednesday. What a fantastic array of colourful, mysterious creatures, wild things and of course, favourite and much loved book characters. We spotted plenty of Harry Potters and friends, Thelma the Unicorns, Dogman, Vikings, princesses, pirates, Sherlock Holmes, even old favourites from Dr Seuss. Strangely enough it wasn’t too difficult to spot Wally or Wenda. Even Primary staff enjoyed the chance to don a costume for the day and we saw the Three Little Piggies, characters from Alice in Wonderland, a pack of crayons from The Day the Crayons Quit and Foundation teachers as senior citizens inspired from the picture book Wilfred Gordon McDonald Partridge by Mem Fox.

Well done to our Primary students (and families) for the big effort you went to in devising these costumes, it made story time in the Library and classroom come to life!
