Year 8 Viking Feast

Ever wondered what it would be like to wear chainmail armour and carry a sword? Or eating porridge with onions and pork?

Well, this is what our Year 8’s got to experience for their Medieval feast and Viking Exhibition on Monday in the last week of Term 1.

With help from guest presenter, Mr Vincent Dessmann from ‘Adventure Histories’, our students were able to experience and broaden their knowledge on life during the Viking Era and more specifically, Viking weaponry. With a collection of high quality replica swords, axes, spears, daggers, shields, helmet and clothing all based on archaeological finds, students were able to immerse themselves into Viking life and interact with the items whilst having a Viking feast of breads, porridge and stews.

A big thank you to the Year 8 teachers for organising this day, also to the students who brought in food and dressed up. A great time was had by all!
